To identify diseases of mammary glands, triunity method is used:
- Examination by a doctor (consultation, palpation, examination, collection of anamnesis);
- Diagnostic methods (ultrasound, mammography, MRI);
- Pathological examination (cytology and histology).
*During diagnostics, doctor cannot be guided only by imaging results (X-ray, CT, MRI) or blood tests.
*Oncologist does not know what he is dealing with until the third stage of triunity is passed – pathomorphological examination (cytology and histology).
*Accurate diagnosis of cancer is impossible without this study.
- First, fine-needle BIOPSY with CYTOLOGICAL study is performed provided that there is suspicion of neoplasm of mammary gland at Center of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology in Semey. This method is based on study of individual cells and allows establishing type of neoplasm in the mammary gland (fibroadenoma, cyst or cancer);
- determine stage and spread of cancer;
- diagnose precancerous and neoplastic processes in the organ.
- If the diagnosis is confirmed cytologically, then, within the framework of further tactics, TREPANBIOPSY WITH HISTOLOGICAL examination is carried out. Tumor fragment or surgical material is used. This stage is very important as it allows making final diagnosis and determine strategy for future treatment.
